Last week, following our safety leadership open day, we took our new fire safety programme ‘Smouldering’, to a client in aviation. The workshop examined the circumstances surrounding the devastating fire at King’s Cross Underground station in 1987, where 31 people died and 60 seriously injured. Although this disaster occurred 30 years ago, we are all painfully aware that fire remains a profound hazard. Our programme takes a close look at the organisational and cultural factors which contributed to the Kings Cross fire.
